As stated previously in the mission the activity of the Career Centre is also dedicated to offer the university the much needed support to become a “University for the Community”.
We address to the senior high-school students, as well as other categories of potential users who could benefit from UPM (Petru Maior University) educational offer (the graduates of some forms of education who choose to improve through various educational programs offered by the institution). For this purpose, with the Rector's office support, informative materials are elaborated regarding the university and postgraduate educational offer (e.g., entrance examination leaflets, folders, advertisements, presentations with IT means, dissemination in the media).

Our main concern lies in supplying counselling services, psychological assistance, methodological and pedagogical support concerning self-knowledge, self-assessment, proper psychological development as well as optimization of psychological functioning, career planning techniques, interview skills, drawing up CV’s and letters of intent for our students and graduates.

With this end in view, with the support of the university leadership, psychometrical instruments have been acquired that will enable superior levels of psycho-diagnosis and efficiency in counselling with useful elaborated strategies, complying with national standards. The development of the specific methodology of psycho-diagnosis and counselling structures according to a series parameters have been a main preoccupation.

• Counselling activities are destined for increasing the adaptability of students in their first academic year, support in complex relational problem solving. Using counselling techniques and psycho-diagnosis instruments facilitates identification of specific individual and group psychological and psycho-pedagogical features.

• Students and graduates turn to the Career Center for adequate level diagnosis for different professions (according to COR – Romanian Occupational Code).

• Access of students to these services increases their chances of integration on the labor market as well as the adaptation to their status and role in the organizations. They make more adequate choices, and our support enables them to make the right choice in their professional career according to the economic and business environment.
On request of students and part of the teaching staff the following were accomplished:

• Group counselling sessions in order to increase students’ adaptation ability (especially for the first year students) to the requirements of the academic environment.

• As far as the psychological and pedagogical assistance is concerned, problems such as increasing learning efficiency were tackled (fast learning techniques were preceded by a module for diagnosis of cognitive particularities of subjects and evaluation of the adaptation potential in relation to the learning context), exercises aiming at decreasing stress levels during exam sessions.

• Individual psychological and psycho-pedagogical assistance sessions requested by students and teaching-staff in order to improve the communication and diversity of teaching techniques
